Here at Habitat for Humanity of Osceola county we have been working hard on community projects. This month alone we have a lot going on and are always in need of volunteers.
On April 17th we participated in Emergency Disaster Relief training in support of the community. We had about 25 volunteers supporting the local hospitals. Practicing what to do and how to react if you should ever be in such a situation. Everyone had a lot of fun and we learned a lot about what to do in case of an emergency.
We will soon be hosting an Osceola County Fair Housing Community Cleanup Event on April 28th. We hope to have 90 volunteers and will be in both Intercession City and Kissimmee. We will be painting and cleaning up the landscape of 5 different houses and a local Church. We are so grateful to all the volunteers that will be attending to help their community. Working together we hope to help as many families as possible.
Not only do we want to help the community to grow and flourish but we also hope to prepare our community for anything that comes our way. We know that if we come together we can accomplish a great deal. If you ever want to get involved to join us in our efforts you can visit our Event Calendar to see what’s going on. You can also fill out a Volunteer Application here on our website.
May 4th we will be hosting another event at L’ove Marvelous Art Gallery join us for happy hour in Kissimmee and support the raffle of a painting. If you don’t have the time to participate in a construction project you can come spend your Friday night with us and start your Cinco de Mayo early. All proceeds go to helping your community! So come join us in our efforts and have some fun. After all, if we work together we can accomplish anything!
