| About Us |
 |
Habitat for Humanity of Osceola County, Inc. became an official affiliate with Habitat for Humanity International in 1997 and quickly began building the first house that was financed by Wal Mart. Our first home owner is Melenye Washington and at the time she moved in she had four children at home. Since that time, Habitat for Humanity has built more homes and helped many more families. |
| Lucent Technology funded the second house with labor by the AT&T Pioneers. Four Presbyterian USA churches in Osceola County (First Presbyterian Kissimmee, St Cloud Presbyterian, Community Presbyterian in Celebration and El Buen Vencina), started the third house on Thanksgiving 2000. Soon thereafter Holy Family Catholic Church in Windermere broke ground on the fourth home. |
| Osceola County Habitat Board of Directors would like to thank all who have funded and worked on these projects that are giving residents in our community a hand up not a hand out. |
We are always looking for support for those in need in our community.
In light of this, please pray for Habitat and find your own way to become involved,
whether as a volunteer, a financial supporter or a home sponsor.
Help us "Build Hope and Homes, One Nail at a Time." |

| Habitat for Humanity of Osceola County has the same goal as all affiliates around the world to eliminate sub-standard poverty housing in our communities while being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Follow our link for more information about Habitat for Humanity International. |
| Habitat for Humanity of Osceola County (HFHOC) is an ecumenical housing ministry in partnership with families, volunteers and others, building communities of hope, dignity and self-worth through the construction of quality, affordable housing and the nurture of decent, safe neighborhoods. |
HFHOC builds and sells homes to families who can not qualify for conventional financing. We offer no-profit, interest free mortgages for our buyers. Prospective homeowners contribute 350-500 hours of "sweat equity" which includes working toward construction of their own and other homes.
Habitat for Humanity International invites people from all walks of life in over 81 countries to work together to help build houses with families in need. With more than 2000 affiliates, Habitat has built more than 110,000 houses around the world, providing some 500,000 people in over 2,000 community’s safe, decent, affordable shelter. The May 2000 issue of "The Builders Magazine" lists Habitat for Humanity International as the 15th largest builder in the United States. |
